TRANSCRIPT

Wendy Paige Sterling: [00:00:01] Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of the power in the pause podcast. How are you doing today? So my friends today I am going to probably say some things that might go against a lot of what you might believe or even things that you’ve probably heard online or even say yourselves and I say that because I know I used to say them too. So today’s episode, my friends, is really gonna talk about why it is that I no longer believe in the leap. And in fact, I believe that the leap is overrated. And here is what, I’m gonna break it down. Let’s just put it that way. I’m going to break it for you because I don’t feel like a lot of coaches are telling you the truth. So, so many of us, or at least I can say that I used to be one of these people that would say take the leap, burn the boat, jump, and the net is going to appear. Does that sound familiar to you? Well, it used to fire me up. It used to like get me really excited. But here’s what I’ve learned over the years about the truth. And I know that it’s my truth because I feel it in my body. And that is that the leap is 1000% completely and utterly overrated. It’s great marketing speak. It’s flashy, it’s sexy. It looks super good on Instagram. I made the leap. But here’s what it actually does for most women. It is bypassing the sacred ground of becoming. It’s totally bypassing the importance of the process. It skips what this podcast is all about, the pause. It skips the regulation that is required in the pause, the leap is also skipping over your truth and actual readiness. Now, maybe listening to this, it may trigger some of you and if it does, you’re welcome because this conversation needs to happen, okay? I am going to be the one who is going to start this conversation with you because it really is at the heart of what I have been teaching and living for many, many years. And after coaching so many people and living this myself, I’m here to tell you that a leap is not required. You don’t need to leap. You need to pause. You We need to listen. Because that’s how it is that you will feel safe. That’s what we want, is to feel safe! It’s about stopping outsourcing your decisions, your calendars, your cash flow. And to admit that what you’re actually feeling right now is a crap ton of pressure. You see, when I left corporate, I didn’t leap, and I also didn’t light everything on fire and then run the opposite direction. I did the opposite of that, okay? I made bold, clear, and very grounded decisions in my life, okay. My decision to get a divorce took me a year to decide a year of therapy and deep coaching and energy work to decide. It was not impulsive and it didn’t bypass my fear. I didn’t just say I don’t want to deal with this. I’m just getting a divorce. That’s easier. No, my friend. Let me tell you staying is a hell of a lot easier than actually choosing to leave. Okay, and I am not the person that is here that needs to prove something. Okay, it required months of me tuning in to my body to feel what it was that felt most aligned for me. The same thing happened when I chose to leave my divorce coaching business and to start my new business, where I coach high achieving women to stop performing and to start. Leading from their truth, not their burnout. And even leaving my divorce business, again, it took me a year, months of tuning in, feeling my fears, and instead of embodying it and becoming one where you see the two become one person, I said, hey, just kind of hang out here, sit beside me, but you do not get to touch the wheel, and you are not a co-pilot. You’re just here, okay? It took me doing, staying in committed action, I’ll say it this way, it took me staying in commited action to realign my nervous system because I needed to build my own internal safety and to ignore the external noise and to stop seeking external evidence. But then guess what happened? I made a decision and I moved. And that one sacred, strategic move changed everything in my life. Not once, not twice. It’s actually, I’ve done it multiple times. And I’m here to tell you that it wasn’t a leap. It was a shift. And it was about returning, coming home to myself, my truth. So I wanna break down in today’s episode what it is that I’ve learned about how we evolve without the performance without the pressure without panic that comes with a leap and these my friend are the four sacred anchors that guided my path along the way okay so you’re going to want to write these down number one it took nervous system anchoring is what i’m calling it okay where safety is that sustainable soil right that sustainable soil that is nutrient-rich for growth, okay? Because if your body doesn’t feel safe, you’re gonna start building a business that feels like a fricking battlefield. And I meet so many women who think, I need a better strategy. No, you don’t. You actually need a more regulated, calmer nervous system. And I had to learn that the hard way myself. The moments I regulated before that decision, Man, that is when everything opened and I started getting the downloads and understanding and seeing what was truly my path. Okay, number two, anchor, is to start listening to your soul-led truth. Okay, because if it’s not your truth, it is not your timeline. And I had to stop telling myself the story that made me look good and to start telling the one that actually felt real, that was the truth, that wasn’t AI generated, okay? And that meant dropping the performance and tuning into what I actually wanted. Not what people thought was best for me, not what people had come to know me as. It meant putting an end to dressing up fear as a logical decision. And instead I chose truth from my body, not my mind. Anchor number three was energetic discernment. What do I mean by that? I am somebody who is masculine energy dominant. I am so good at doing. I pride, I used to pride myself on how amazing I was at multitasking, getting shit done, how many things I get in a day, being everything to everybody. Woo, I’m exhausted even just saying that. But what I have learned over the last decade of, almost decade of doing this work is that when you lead with your feminine, which your feminine is leading with frequency, okay? A frequency that attracts clients. When you lead with your masculine, you’re leading with force. That doesn’t bring in clients. So I started asking myself some slightly different questions, right? Those questions being, well, this opportunity, somebody reaches out to me, oh, I want you to be on a summit, come speak on my summit. Well, I had to take a step back because the masculine in me, I wanna be everything, I wanna do everything, oh my God, exposure, ah! Right? But I had to stop and say, wait a second, does this feel like an expansive opportunity or am I feeling pressure of, I have to build my list, I should get in front of more people, right? You can feel the energy difference. Another question I ask myself in these situations is, well, am I moving from self-trust or am I’m moving from a place of urgency? There’s actually a difference. And I’m not saying that urgency is bad, but when urgency is coming from your masculine in a doing like FOMO, no, wrong energy. Do you understand the difference? I hope that that clarified. But I’ll tell you that when I made that shift by leading with my frequency of my feminine instead of force through my masculine, it changed how I made every single decision in my business and how it has set me up for nothing but alignment and clients, okay? Number four is devotional. I’m calling devotional action, okay. Now, let me explain. So. Your evolution happens one embodied decision at a time, right? So in order for you to stay in alignment with where it is that you are headed, it takes baby steps, one embodied at a decision at time. Okay, but these baby steps don’t come from fear, okay? They’re coming from you being in your sovereignty of self. So what does that mean? Well, I stopped asking myself, is this fast enough? Am I doing it fast enough. I used to pride myself, no more. And instead, I started asking myself, huh, does this feel in alignment? Does this feel like my truth? And so I would stop feeling the pressure of needing to do things. Oh my God, nothing’s on the calendar. I haven’t booked anything. Or oh my God I haven, no. Momentum doesn’t come from speed, you guys. Hello, that’s what this podcast is all about. Okay, momentum comes from your devotion to self. And when you’re devoted to yourself, the action is a no-brainer and it happens 10 times faster and it doesn’t feel so heavy. And so that’s what I want today’s episode to speak into, right, especially because this is the second to last episode of the season of the Power in the Pause podcast. Because what I’m stepping into next, is something that’s built on a new frequency that I have stepped into. A higher level frequency that has been given to me as a non-negotiable and it’s built on my body wisdom. It’s built on this deep inner knowing piece by piece that has been unveiling itself to me for the last two years. And it has accelerated over the last three since I got back from Egypt. And maybe you’re feeling the same thing. I don’t know. But if you are like me where you felt like you were standing in front of a cliff with this view and you have the choice, should I leap because I know that my wings are gonna come out or do I just take a step closer to just kind of get a lay of the land, okay? Because the pause is in that step forward. It’s whispering louder than ever. So if you can wrap your mind around this concept that the pause is not a weakness, but what it is, is it’s a portal. A portal that accelerates you from where you are to where it is that you want to go. I say this all the time, the acceleration is in the pause. And I work with so many high achieving, high functioning, heart led leaders, entrepreneurs, CEOs. Who are exhausted from constantly feeling the pressure to leap and instead they’re craving something deeper, something slower, something more rooted. And if you’re somebody who’s been listening to my show for the last two years, thank you. I appreciate you. If you just stumbled on this, I love you and appreciate you as well. And with every episode, I drop breadcrumbs. So you’ve already gotten a taste of them. And where I’m going next is going to invite those of you who are ready to lead from your body too, to move from your soul and to stop performing. And to start receiving. No leaps, not allowed, just anchored pauses. So today I wanna invite you to stop chasing, to leap, and to instead to start creating from the pause, which is where your wholeness lives. And next week’s episode will be our final episode closing this chapter with a final transmission. Before I decide to open something new, which I don’t know when that will be, but I know that it will be a new space, a new rhythm, a new way of being. And so for now, let this land for you. You don’t need to leap. I’m inviting you instead to pause and to tap into that inner leader within and let them guide you. So I hope that you enjoyed today’s episode. I really appreciate your willingness to listen and to hear sort of where I’m at and what has been, it’s just been, there’s been some leaping conversation that I’ve been noticing on social media that felt really important for me to talk about and to bring a new perspective into the conversation. So. If you have something to say, I would love to hear it. Feel free to DM me on social media at wendypagestirling. Send me an email, wendy at wendypagesterling.com. I am the one who opens them all. To know that you are thinking of them. It goes such a long way, so help me spread this word if you know somebody who can benefit from listening to today’s episode. And as always, you know that what I try to do with every single episode is to show you what is possible in these moments of pause. And to me, that is you tapping into your power within, sending you all so much love and light always. Bye, everybody.
